Oscars Challenge #8: Argo (2012)

Ben Affleck really did a lot to this film. He was the main character, producer, and director all at the same time.

Set during the Iran Revolution. Tony Mendez, a CIA Operative, was tasked to rescue six diplomats who have escaped capture by the Iranians. As security in Iran started to tighten up, the CIA with Mendez as a leader, devised a plan to extract them out of the country in the most unusual way, a movie disguise.

One of the most controversial films and was cited due to its historical inaccuracies, I believe Argo still delivered action and a tension-filled pack story. A lot of the praise would be the casting choice as well as how they interpreted their characters.

To be honest, I couldn't care more about how historically accurate the movie is. My only focus is the movie itself and the enjoyment I felt watching it. Which I think really deserves the Best Picture award no doubt.

The 85th Academy Awards had a very tough competition in the Best Picture category. This movie went toe-to-toe with other incredible ones like Life of Pi, Lincoln, Zero Dark Thirty, and Silver Linings Playbook. Any one of these movies deserves the Best Picture spot and to me all of them are winners.

This is a must-watch and a very important film. You can just research after the movie to know what happened in history.

If you didn't like the film then maybe you need to Argo f*** yourself. Just kidding.
